FROXFIELD EMERGENCY PLAN

Most emergencies dealt with by the emergency services will not require additional support, although first aid to an individual could save a life.
The Government requires that Parish Councils put in place an Emergency Plan for when there is a major situation and if the emergency responders have requested assistance from the local community.

The situations The P.C. has been asked to cover in the emergency plan include: a serious accident on local roads, motorway, or the rail network; Major outages, disconnection of electric/gas supply or leak; major fuel shortages; chemical spills and an aviation crash; major health risk or pandemic and, finally, severe weather conditions with potential to disrupt and hinder services and put residents at risk.

The Froxfield Community Emergency Plan can be instigated by the Emergency Services contacting the Emergency Committee, or the Emergency Committee recognising a situation where there is a risk to the residents and visitors.
Unfortunately, the Emergency Plan cannot cover individual problems and these should be dealt with in the normal way. Contained within the emergency plan are some useful household information. If you feel you would like to volunteer should there be a major emergency please let one of your Parish Councillors/Committee members know and we will add you to the list of Volunteers.

As with any major emergency, we hope it will never happen, but by being prepared the Committee can call upon various organisations/individuals with the aim to support and help the emergency services.
